I started using my artistic skills as a photographer in high school where I was one of the photographers for the yearbook as well as the literary publication that my school produced. My father had been a photographer for the yearbook at his high school and he helped me get started. I graduated from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Eventually I received  my Masters from the University of Michigan, Dearborn.

    After college, I worked full-time in the corporate world and resumed photography as time permitted. I photographed weddings and events and I also won several awards for creative photography. After my children were born, my photography was naturally centered around them.

    My children are grown now, and photography is my full-time career. I am the owner and operator of Capture Your Moments Photography in Raleigh, NC. CarpeMoment: "Seize the Moment” -- once a moment is gone, it is gone . . . unless you capture it.
